📱 Using the BlackVue App #

🔐 Register BlackVue Account #

1) Download the App #

Search for “BlackVue” on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and install the app on your smartphone. #

2) Create an Account #

  • Open the app. On the welcome screen, choose a sign-up method:

    • Continue with Apple

    • Continue with Google

    • Continue with Email

  • If you choose Continue with Email:

① Enter your email address 

Type in your email address and tap Next.

② Create a Password

Set a secure password for your account and tap Next.

③ Agree to Terms 

  • Accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

  • Confirm that you are 14 years of age or older

  • (Optional) Subscribe to product news and updates
    Tap Next to continue.

④ Verify your Email 

  • A 6-digit confirmation code will be sent to your email.

  • Enter the code and tap Confirm to complete your registration.

➕ Add BlackVue Dashcam to Camera List #

You can add your camera using one of the following methods:

                   1) Seamless Pairing (BT) 

  • Getting Started: Select the “+” icon or tap “Add Camera” to begin the setup.

  • For seamless pairing, ensure your smartphone’s Bluetooth is enabled.

  • Make sure the dashcam is powered on and nearby.

  • Tap Seamless Pairing (BT) and select your camera.

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to verify your dashcam by placing your hand on the touch sensor.

  • Once verified, the camera is registered automatically.

  • Configure options like Wi-Fi/FTA, Cloud Storage,  and Battery Pairing.

                     2) Add with QR Code 

  • Tap Add with QR Code.

  • Allow camera access if prompted.

  • Scan the QR code located on its packaging.

  • Once the QR code is recognized, your dashcam will be registered automatically.

  • On the Camera Registered screen, configure the following options as needed:

    – Wi-Fi/FTA: Enable wireless features.

                           – Cloud Storage: Automatically upload footage to the cloud.

                            – Battery Pairing: Link with a compatible BlackVue Battery (if applicable).

  • Tap OK to finish the setup.

                   3) Manually (Wi-Fi)

  • Tap Manually (Wi-Fi).

  • Enter your dashcam’s Wi-Fi SSID and password.

  • Connect your smartphone to the dashcam’s Wi-Fi.

  • Your camera will then be added to the app.


⚙️ Quick Settings (Optional) #

After adding your dashcam, the app will guide you through essential initial setup options. Follow the steps below:

                         1) Start Quick Settings

  • Tap Next to begin setup, or Skip to use the default settings.

  • A prompt will appear to join the dashcam’s Wi-Fi network. Tap Join to continue.

                        2) Set Language

  • Choose your preferred voice guidance language (e.g., English, Korean, etc.).
     

  • Tap Next to proceed.

                         3) Set Time Zone

  • Select the appropriate time zone for your location.

  • Use the search bar for quicker selection.

  • Tap Next.

                          4) Set Speed Unit

  • Choose your preferred speed unit:

    • km/h (default)

    • mph

  • Tap Next.

                         5) Finish Setup

  • A confirmation screen will appear: “Success! Quick settings done”.

  • You can tap Save to complete setup, or More Settings to continue with advanced configurations.

💡Tips: You can always revisit or change these settings later from the Camera Settings menu.


▶️ Playing Video #

🔹 Accessing Recorded Videos #

         1) Open the BlackVue app on your smartphone.

        2) On the Cameras tab, tap your dashcam model from the list.

        3) Select “Playback / Live View” to open the SD Card Video screen.


🔹 Playing a Video in the playback #

        1) Scroll through the list to find the video you want to view.

        2) Tap on a video thumbnail to start playback.

        3) While playing, the date, time, recording type, and speed (if GPS is enabled) will be displayed on screen.

🔹 Identify video files by recording type

Normal

The dashcam records in normal mode by default.

Event

When the dashcam detects an impact while in normal or parking mode, it switches to event mode and saves an event recording beginning 5 seconds before the event triggers. 

Exceeding the set speed limit will also trigger an event recording.

Parking

In parking mode the dashcam continuously buffers video. When motion is detected in the dashcam’s field of view, it saves a parking recording beginning 5 seconds before the motion detection.

Manual

If touch sensor is enabled in the firmware settings, touching the sensor will trigger manual recording. 

 


📡 Live View #

Check what your dashcam sees in real time — ideal for setup, positioning, or remote viewing.

🔹 How to Use Live View #

          1) Open the BlackVue app and go to your Camera screen.

          2) Tap “Playback / Live View”.

          3) Select the “Live View” tab at the top of the SD Card Video screen.

  • Make sure your smartphone is connected to the dashcam’s Wi-Fi or Cloud, depending on your setup.


            4) The live video stream from your dashcam will appear.

  • You can switch between Front and Rear views (if supported).

  • Use this to help with dashcam installation or to check your vehicle remotely via Cloud connection.

📌  Note: A stable Wi-Fi or Cloud connection is required for smooth real-time viewing.


🗂️ Managing Video #

You can easily organize, download, or back up your dashcam footage using the BlackVue app. Whether you want to keep important clips on your phone or upload them to the cloud, the app makes video management quick and simple.

⬇️ Download to My Device #

Save dashcam videos directly to your smartphone for offline viewing or sharing.

🔹 How to Download a Video to Your Device #

      1) Select “Playback / Live View” to open the SD Card Video screen. 

      2) Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the video you want to save.

      3) Select “Download to my device” from the options. 

      4) When prompted, allow the app to access your Photo Library to save videos.

  • Tap “Allow Full Access” for seamless downloading.


        5) In the Video Download Option screen:

  • Choose Video quality:
  • Original file (4K)
  • Select the Video direction:
  • Front, Rear, or both
  •  

         6) Tap Download to begin.

  • A progress bar will show the current download status.

           7) Once completed, you’ll see a “Video Download Complete” message.

📁 Downloaded videos can be found in your phone’s gallery or the Account tab > Downloaded Videos within the app.

ℹ️ Make sure your device is connected to the dashcam’s Wi-Fi network to access and download the videos.


☁️ Upload to My Drive #

Store important recordings to your BlackVue Cloud storage (My Drive) for secure access and backup.

🔹 How to Upload a Video to My Drive #

     1) Select “Playback / Live View” to open the SD Card Video screen.  #

     2) Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the video you want to upload.

       3) Select “Upload to My Drive” from the options. 

       4) In the Video Upload Option screen:

  • Choose Video quality:

    • Original file (4K)

    • Low resolution file only

  • Select the Video direction:

    • Front, Rear, or both

           5) Tap Upload to begin.

  • A progress bar will show the current upload status.

              6) Once completed, you’ll see a “Video Upload Complete” message.

📁 Uploaded videos can be found in Cloud Storage tab > My Drive within the app.
