BlackVue ELITE Series supports both the FAT32 file system and the exFAT format for stable operation of the microSD card.
Backup and necessary video files before formatting the microSD card. If you format the microSD card, all the video files stored in the microSD card will be deleted, including the locked event files. Your saved settings will not be affected.
Format using Blackvue Viewer(Windows)
1) Insert the microSD Card into your computer.
2) Download BlackVue Viewer(Windows) from www.blackvue.com>Support>Firmware Download and install it on your computer.
3) Launch the BlackVue Viewer that is installed on your computer.
4) Click the Format button, select the microSD card drive, and click Format.
Format using BlackVue Viewer(macOS)
1) Insert the microSD card into your computer.
2) Download BlackVue viewer(Mac) from http://www.blackvue.com>Support > Firmware Download and install it on your computer.
3) Launch the BlackVue Viewer that is installed on your computer.
4) Click the Format button and select the microSD card from the list of drivers in the left frame.
5) After selecting your microSD card, select the Erase tab in the main window.
6) From the Volume Format drop-down menu, select either ‘MS-DOS (FAT)’ or ‘ExFAT’, then click Erase.
Format using BlackVue App(Android / iOS)
1) Open the BlackVue app that is installed on your smartphone.
2) Select More in the navigation bar.
3) Selectoption above the ‘More’ menu. (If your dashcam is not already added on the app, refer to ‘Connecting your smartphone to BlackVue app’ and add your camera to the list).
4) Select Format SD card and tap format.
Formatting requires a connection between the dashcam and Wi-Fi. Make sure the dashcam is nearby to establish the Wi-Fi connection.
5) Your BlackVue dashcam will initiate microSD format.
Note
*Formatting the microSD card once a month is recommended.
*Format the microSD card if the recorded video quality appears to be poor.
*Only use official BlackVue microSD cards. Other cards may have compatibility issues. PittaSoft Co., Ltd. will not be held responsible for any problems caused by using another manufacturer’s microSD card.
*For Windows users: In “My Computer,” right-click the microSD card and select Format. Choose FAT32 or exFAT as the File system, set the Allocation unit size to 64KB, and click Start.
If FAT32 or exFAT is not shown, please format the microSD card using BlackVue Viewer.
